What's the Difference Between an Alligator and a Crocodile?
Alligator:
  • The main visible difference between the two is that alligators have a wide, broad snout while crocodiles have a narrow, pointy snout and jaw.
  • Crocodiles often have teeth the jut out noticeably from their lower jaw - the alligator does not.
  • In general, alligators prefer fresh water while crocs enjoy a salty abode.
